A teenager was killed when government forces opened fire on a group of anti-Israel protesters in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam district this afternoon, some 50 kms from here, an official said here.
He said government forces opened fire during anti-Israel protests at Khudwani area of the district in South Kashmir on Saturday.
Official sources said that the government forces fired teargas shells and opened few shots to disperse the protesters resulting in injuries to at least three persons.
However, the sources said that one among the three youths Suhail Ahmad Lone, 15, sustained serious bullet injuries.
Suhail, a resident of Havora in Khudwani, was immediately shifted to Janglat Mandi hospital in neighbouring Anantnag district where he succumbed to injuries.

Police said a group of youth were protesting against the latest Israeli ground offensive in Gaza at Qaimoh. The protests turned violent when CRPF personnel used batons to chase away the protesters.
The youth started pelting stones after which CRPF allegedly opened firing, resulting in death of one person and injuries to another, the police said.
Protests erupted in Qaimoh town where two people had been injured in clashes with the forces during anti-Israel protests Friday.
High tension gripped the south Kashmir area after news about the boy’s death spread in the area.
Senior civil and police officers have rushed to the town to maintain law and order and to find out the exact reasons for firing by the forces.
Police have registered an FIR in the Incident and matter is being probed, an official said.
