KARACHI: According to police, two college students have been taken into custody for their alleged role in Wednesday’s aerial firing on Seaview.
They claimed that at around ten in the morning, students from several educational institutions congregated near DHA Phase VIII, where some of them engaged in aerial fire with automatic weapons.
According to the police, Jabber Khan and Bilal Akhund were taken into custody, and a FIR was filed at the Sahil police station.
They claimed that in order to apprehend further people, raids were being carried out.
According to the police, it is strictly forbidden to show guns or fire from the air. The students’ use of firearms to incite fear and terror among the crowd was unacceptable.
They said, “The college administration has been contacted by the police, who have advised them to take punitive action against the students.”
According to DIG-South Syed Asad Raza, over the past ten years, students from renowned private colleges in DHA have been organizing “batch bunk” events.
He mentioned that they had formed a WhatsApp group with about a thousand students in it.
Under Sections 341 (wrongful restraint), 337-H (ii) (penalty for hurt caused by reckless or careless act), 277 (fouling water of public spring or reservoir), and 34 (common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code, a case was filed on behalf of the state.
The cops in the neighborhood were carrying out their duties when they heard gunfire at around 10:20 a.m., according to the FIR. They dashed to the main Abdul Sattar Avenue at Seaview, where they observed individuals armed with automatic guns and dressed in college uniforms engaging in overhead fire.
It stated that after noticing the license plates of multiple cars, the police were told by those in attendance that the drivers were all students who had managed to flee.
