LAHORE: Pakistan won the three matches one day series against Zimbabwe, Aaj News reported.
The third match was unexpectedly stopped because of heavy rain, bringing the winning score of the series to 2-0.
Pakistan won the toss and selected to bat first in the third and final ODI played at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.
Mohammad Hafeez and Azhar Ali gave a solid standing as opening pair, Hafeez scored 80 runs while Ali just fell four runs short from his half century.
The debutant Babar Azam played the knock of 54 runs, helping Pakistan to score 296 runs in 50 overs.
Before the second innings could start rain affected the match and officials decided to limit the overs and runs to 46 overs with the new total of 281 runs. Zimbabwe was only able to play nine overs as heavy winds and rains forced the officials to postpone the match.
With this, team green won the three matches ODI series by 2-0. Ali was awarded Player of the series award.
This is the first ODI series win for Ali as captain of Pakistani team, before this series Pakistan white washed the Zimbabwean team in T20 series.
