GWADAR: After negotiations with the administration produced no fruit, the families of the missing and representatives of civil society staged a sit-in in front of the Turbat deputy commissioner office on Sunday.
Families from Turbat’s Buleda and Pidarak neighborhoods whose loved ones are said to have vanished have been staging a sit-in for the past few days to demand their return.
Hussain Wadila, the chairman of Haq Do Tehreek, attended the sit-in camp alongside movement activists Hafiz Kiazai, Essa Gami, Haider Baloch, and others to show support for the families demonstrating.
Speaking to the demonstrators, Mr. Wadila noted that the relatives of those who have gone missing had been holding protests for several days during which the temperature has stayed as high as 51 degrees Celsius.
The demonstrators had earlier met with the deputy commissioner of Turbat in a delegation, but the talks broke down, so they announced that they would be carrying on with their demonstration.
