MANSEHRA: On Monday in the Loter district of Upper Kohistan, a huge rock that had dislodged from a neighboring mountain along the Karakoram Highway fell over a passenger coach, killing three persons, including two army personnel. Another person was injured.
According to Rescue 1122 official Abdul Rehman, “a landslide hit the passenger coach, killing two army personnel and a civilian.”
A huge boulder rolled over the Northern Areas Transport Company’s passenger coach, badly injuring four persons as it traveled from Rawalpindi to Gilgit.
After ambulances and Rescue 1122 personnel raced to the scene, they were taken to the Dasu DHQ hospital, where physicians declared Sultan Mehmood, a resident of Rawalpindi, and residents Imtiaz Hussain, a resident of Gilgit, and Sangal Hussain, a resident of the Yasin area of Ghizer, both of whom were identified as army soldiers, dead.
After suffering serious injuries, Dilshad Qamar, a resident of Rawalpindi, was sent to Ayub Medical Complex Hospital in Abbottabad, where it was determined that his condition was not life-threatening.
Both soldiers, according to sources, were returning home.
According to Mr. Rehman, ambulances were used to transport the dead to their respective hometowns.
However, in the Oghi neighborhood here, a tricycle plunged down a deep ravine, killing four-year-old Muhammad Hafeez and injuring four more.
After being rushed to Civil Hospital, Oghi, by an ambulance and Rescue 1122 crew, the physicians declared the infant deceased.
The three injured—two of whom were women—were directed to Abbottabad’s Ayub Medical Complex Hospital.
