According to Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah, he has directed the Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Youth Development Program (BBSYDP) to commence training programs for the following professions:
- Nursing
- Paramedics
- Hotel management
This step is being taken so that the younger generation gains an invaluable skill set and secure future employment opportunities. While initially, employment will be given to them in Pakistan, but as their experience grows within that particular industry, they may be able to use their learnt experience for better opportunities outside Pakistan.
CM Hopes To Establish First-ever Technical Training University in Sindh
In addition to a training platform, the chief minister also disclosed the plan to establish the first-ever technical training university in Sindh. This technical training institute will cater to everyone and help them meet the requirements of certification for jobs in other countries. Due to lack of professional and trained individuals in both the private and public sector, the chief minister said there was a need for nursing and paramedical staff in the province.
The Middle East shows great promise for paramedical and nursing staff, and that is probably where these individuals will seek employment next when they have gained adequate experience while working in Pakistan.
Previously, the BBSYDP chairman said the program was introduced back in 2008-9 and had been designed to reduce poverty and unemployment by providing skilled training to youths, which in turn would boost the economy of the province. Under the program, training is being delivered to achieve the following skills:
- ECG technician
- Anaesthesia
- X-ray technician
- OT technician
- Lab technician
- Beautician
- Stitching
- Computer courses
According to the latest statistics, 292,000 youths have been trained in various trades successfully under existing programs, with new programs expected to attract more youth. The training program is also expected to deliver these courses in various languages as well.
