GUJRAT: On Sunday, the nine individuals who perished in the Noshki attack on Friday were buried at their hometowns in the regions of central Punjab.
The guys were shot dead by Balochistan Liberation Army gunmen after being kidnapped from a bus headed for Taftan. They were from Wazirabad, Gujranwala, and Mandi Bahauddin. Later, their bodies were disposed of in a hilly part of Noshki, beneath a bridge.
On Sunday, the bodies of six victims arrived at Chak Fateh Shah, the village of Mandi Bahauddin.
At the Salem Interchange of the Lahore-Islamabad Motorway, the coffins transported onto Rescue 1122 ambulances were accepted by local police and government authorities.
Following a combined funeral, they were laid to rest at a nearby cemetery.
Along with the remains, the lone survivor—Zahid Imran Butt of Mandi Bahauddin—also made it to the village.
Mr. Butt was clearly distraught and avoided speaking with reporters when they attempted to question him about the attack.
According to a statement from the Mandi Bahauddin district administration, the chief minister and chief secretary of Punjab ordered officials from Gujranwala Commissioner Naveed Haider Sheerazi, Mandi Bahauddin Deputy Commissioner Shahid Marth, District Police Officer Raza Kazmi, and other departments to attend the funeral.
In a conversation with the deceased’s heirs, Commissioner Sheeraz expressed Punjab government sympathies and denounced the murders.
He remarked that during their sad period, the government was on their side.
Additionally, the 17-year-old Wasiq Farooq’s body reached Chora village in the Wazirabad area. Following funeral rituals, he was buried in a nearby graveyard.
No government representative was present at the funeral, despite the fact that many residents came.
The family sources state that all nine victims and one survivor, who was between the ages of 17 and 23, had legitimate permits to enter both Iran and Iraq. Their plan was to go to Turkiye and then into Europe.
The men departed their hometowns on April 7 after the families first paid a Gujranwala-based agency Rs260,000 for the travel arrangements. Tanzeel Nasir, age 20, Muhammad Qasim, age 22, Sajid Imran, age 23, Abu Bakar, age 23, Muzamil Hussain, age 22, Mazhar Iqbal, age 21, Wasiq, age 17, Rana Shahzeb, and Javed Shahzad were named among them.
