WANA: During a visit to Wana, Lower South Waziristan district, on Tuesday, Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) Gen. Syed Asim Munir was given a thorough briefing on the current state of security, continuing counterterrorism operations, and development projects.
The commander of the Peshawar Corps greeted him at Wana. Later, in remembrance of the martyrs, the COAS placed a floral wreath at the Shuhada Monument.
In response to hostile threats, the COAS expressed gratitude for the forces’ extraordinary morale and high level of preparedness, according to a statement released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). He reiterated the army’s steadfast determination to foil the evil plans of adversarial forces and those who assist them.
The COAS paid sincere homage to the security forces and law enforcement agencies (LEAs) who have made the ultimate sacrifice while performing their duties, according to the ISPR. He emphasized that in order to increase the capability of LEAs, especially KP police, the army will continue to give unwavering support and technical aid.
Under the South Waziristan Integrated Development Plan, General Asim Munir acknowledged the critical role that the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa play in preserving peace and promoting numerous projects. He emphasized the army’s resolve to use its resources to advance prosperity and development in KP.
The head of the army expressed gratitude to the tribal elders for their continuous support of the army and for helping to fight terrorism.
