Hattian Bala, (Parliament Times) : The 19th death anniversary of Shaheedzada Muhammad Ishaq Zafar, a great Kashmiri leader and former President, Speaker, Senior Minister, Acting President, Prime Minister, and Opposition Leader of the Pakistan People’s Party Azad Kashmir, was commemorated with great reverence and simplicity at his ancestral home in Bani Hafiz, Hattian Bala.
A Quran recitation and Fatiha ceremony was held at the residence of Sahibzada Muhammad Ashfaq Zafar, Senior Vice President of the Pakistan People’s Party Azad Kashmir and former Chairman of the Implementation and Monitoring Commission. A large number of party workers, admirers, and local dignitaries attended the ceremony, paying their respects at the grave, offering flowers, and praying for the departed soul.
Speakers praised Sahibzada Muhammad Ishaq Zafar’s lifelong dedication to Pakistan, the Kashmir freedom movement, public service, and the strengthening of the People’s Party. They emphasized that his services can never be forgotten.
Sahibzada Muhammad Ashfaq Zafar said that even 19 years after his father’s passing, his memories, ideas, and mission remain alive. He expressed gratitude to the people of Constituency 6 for their love and trust and vowed to continue serving the people and the party.
He announced that the party workers would start preparing for the upcoming general elections in Azad Kashmir, with the goal of forming a PPP government by next September. He also announced that on the next death anniversary, a grand ceremony would be held where the Prime Minister would formally announce the resolution of all issues in Constituency 6.
The participants paid tribute to Sahibzada Muhammad Ishaq Zafar’s services and pledged to continue working towards the stability of Pakistan, Kashmiri freedom, and public rights, following his footsteps.
