A source familiar with the negotiations tells AFP that Israeli officials arrived in Doha, Qatar yesterday for negotiations aimed at a ceasefire in Gaza and a hostage-prisoner swap between Israel and Hamas.
The source, who spoke on condition of anonymity due to the delicate nature of the discussions, stated, “An Israeli technical team is in Doha to discuss the ceasefire and hostage deal in Gaza.”
The insider stated, “This is between Israeli and Qatari working-level teams,” suggesting that the goal of the talks was to close the parties’ differences.
Although there was no indication that Barnea was present at the current discussions, the source said the meetings come after David Barnea, the head of Israel’s Mossad intelligence organization, traveled to Doha on Wednesday.
