KARACHI: It was time for Christians all over the world to celebrate Easter Sunday after the 40 days of fasting during Lent and the final two days of fervent prayers and thought while remembering the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.
It was time to put the grief behind us and celebrate Christ’s resurrection with the conviction that he will return. Easter is a celebration of life reborn.
Benny Mario Travas, the archbishop of Karachi, presided over a sizable midnight mass at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, which served as the first event of the festivities.
In his homily on the occasion, the Archbishop stated that a spiritual boost is necessary in order to comprehend Christ’s resurrection. “How can one receive spiritual uplift?” He enquired.
He stated that having trust in Jesus Christ is the first requirement in response to the question. Secondly, one must encounter death, and thirdly, one must learn to love one another.
“After reflecting on these three ideas, one experiences a spiritual boost. Additionally, one will comprehend the significance of Christ’s resurrection through spiritual uplift,” he continued.
The Archbishop stated, “The lack of spiritual uplifting experience is the main reason for turmoil and unrest in the world these days.”
Why are we suffering in Pakistan, and why is there so much instability and lawlessness? It occurs as a result of our not having had the necessary spiritual experiences,” he stated.
Later, he prayed for the nation, the government, and international peace, particularly for Palestine, Russia, and Ukraine, during the faithful’ prayers.
