Mirpur, (Parliament Times): Prime Minister Azad Kashmir Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq has urged India to rescind and reverse its illegal and unjust action of August 5, 2019 and create a conducive atmosphere for a just and peaceful resolution of the longstanding Kashmir dispute in accordance with the United Nations resolutions.
The Prime Minister made these remarks while addressing a press conference following the Parliamentary Kashmir Committee meeting held at a local hotel today.
During his address, the AJK premier stated that India’s contentious decision to remove the special status of occupied Jammu and Kashmir has inflicted significant harm on the prospects for a peaceful resolution of the Kashmir issue. He emphasized that Pakistan has consistently opposed and condemned this action at all levels, firmly expressing the nation’s “unequivocal rejection” of India’s decision to abolish the special status of the region.The AJK premier described the Parliamentary Kashmir Committee meeting in Azad Kashmir as a constructive development, noting that it has conveyed a positive message across the line of control. He asserted that this visit reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Kashmiris’ legitimate struggle and its commitment to peaceful resolution of the Kashmir issue.He also acknowledged the Kashmir Committee’s vital role in the development and prosperity of Azad Kashmir. During the event, the Prime Minister reiterated his government’s commitment to completing ongoing development projects in the region.
Pertinently, the high-profile meeting reaffirmed Pakistan’s moral, diplomatic, and political support for the Kashmiris’ ongoing liberation movement. The committee also directed the preparation of a feasibility report for the establishment of an international airport in Mirpur.On this occasion, the Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee Rana Muhammad Qasim Noon also addressed the media. Members of the committee and other officers were also present.
Earlier, an in-camera meeting held under the chairmanship of the Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir Rana Muhammad Qasim Noon was attend by the AJK premier, federal ministers including Dr. Fazal Chaudhry, Malik Abrar Ahmed, Wajia Kanwal, Riaz Fatyana, Sardar Fatehullah Khan, Syed Javed Ali Shah, Muhammad Zahar Khan Leghari,
Speaker Azad Kashmir Assembly Latif Akbar and government ministers including Colonel Waqar Ahmad Noor, Chaudhry Muhammad Rashid, Arshad Hussain, Azhar Sadiq, Qasim Majeed and Yasir Sultan.
