QUETTA: Seven laborers, all from Multan, were slain by terrorists with automatic guns when they broke into a house that was still under construction in Panjgur town’s Khuda-i-Abadan neighborhood late on Saturday night, according to police.
Both Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Asif Zardari swiftly denounced the horrific assault.
Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti was asked to provide a report by the PM, who reiterated the government’s commitment to doing everything within its power to eradicate terrorism from the country.
According to the police, the armed men started fire with automatic guns in Mohalla Abdul Rehman, targeting the workers who were sleeping in the same room of the house they were building.
“An additional worker was hurt in the gunfire, and seven laborers were killed instantly”, Inspector General Police Moazzam Jag Ansari said to Dawn. He claimed that they resided and worked at Abu Bakr’s unfinished home.
Police and members of other law enforcement organizations hurried to the scene as soon as they learned about the shooting. The district hospital was the new location for the victims.
Panjgur SSP Fazil Shah Bokhari stated, “All the laborers who lost their lives in the firing are from the Shujabad area of Multan district, and Abu Bakr brought them to Panjgur for the construction of his house”.
He declared, “it is a terrorist attack”, and announced that an inquiry was being conducted into what had happened.
“We have received seven bodies and an injured person in the hospital”, hospital officials stated.
Sajid, Shafiq, Fayyaz, Iftikhar, Salam, Khalid, and Allah Wasia were named as the victims.
The Panjgur district hospital housed the bodies. According to them, all of the victims died as a consequence of multiple gunshot wounds, and the wounded man was admitted to the hospital as well.
According to some accounts, there were nine laborers in all, and one of them was safe from the horrific attack since he was not present at the residence.
