LAHORE: Pakistan all-rounder Abdul Razzaq announced his retirement from international cricket, Samaa reported on Friday.
“A time comes when every player has to retire and I think this is the right time for me to do so. I have been out of cricket for the past three to four years, so it is really difficult to make a comeback now,” Razzaq said in an interview to a local news agency.
“Shahid Afridi, Misbah (ul-Haq), Younis (Khan) and Mohammad Yousuf — all the players who I used to play with back in the day — have retired. The announcement is merely a formality. The main thing is coming to terms with the reality that your time in international cricket has ended,” he added.
He played his last game for Pakistan back in 2013 against South Africa in a Twenty20 international.
Razzaq proved himself to be a handy player of Pakistan particularly in the last stages of any game.
The all rounder played 46 test match and scored 1946 runs with the help of three centuries and seven half centuries. He made 5080 runs in 265 runs with three centuries and 23 50s to his name. He scored 393 runs in 32 Twenty20 internationals.
He has 100 test wickets and 269 ODI wickets to his name. He has taken 20 T20 wickets as well
