LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf’s incarcerated leader Dr Yasmin Rashid has sent a message for judges that several Pakistani women are behind bars for nine months “as a part of a political victimisation spree”.
In a post credited to Dr. Rashid on PTI’s official X handle, she added that the law “was not just blind also deaf and dumb too.” According to Dr. Rashid, mothers, sisters, and daughters are imprisoned not because they have committed crimes but rather because they are being victimized politically.
Runner-up from NA-130, she claimed that votes were stolen on February 8 despite the fact that large numbers of people cast ballots in an atmosphere of intimidation.
She said that the Pakistani people had lost faith in the Election Commission and were turning to the judiciary in search of justice, pleading with the judges to fulfill their responsibility to administer justice.
Dr. Rashid declared, “The judges must uphold the people of Pakistan’s mandate.”
PTI campaign organizer Sajid Nabi Malik claimed in an interview with Dawn that the caretaker government had engaged in widespread electoral manipulation in NA-130, which included a duel between PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif and candidate Dr. Yasmin Rashid.
He claimed that based on Form-45 data, the candidate supported by the PTI was leading by a significant margin. He added that the results were halted as the NA-130 returning officer was finishing up the vote count, along with police led by a senior officer entered the RO office. In place of the candidate, they ejected the polling workers who were present.
The policemen tormented the RO and made him leave since he refused to alter the outcome. Late at night, another RO was assigned, and the rigging was finished in his presence, according to Mr. Malik.
