KARACHI: On Thursday, authorities declared that they had apprehended two individuals who were purportedly trained by the Indian intelligence organization Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) and seized firearms, among other items, from their custody.
Korangi SSP Hassan Sardar Niazi continued, saying that two suspects, Sheikh Mohammed Ayub, also known as Ayub Ansari, and Ahsan Raza, were taken into custody by the police and an intelligence organization following an operation.
According to the official, the decision was made in light of the previous “RAW-trained” suspects Khawar Husain and Mohammed Jaber’s interrogations.
Ayub was referred to by the SSP as RAW’s “mastermind agent.”
The official declared, “A massive network being operated by RAW in Karachi has been smashed.”
It is said that Ayub Ansari arrived in Karachi in 1998 and, after concealing his name, was living illegally in Pakistan.
He entered Karachi on a visitation visa from Mumbai and obtained an illicit Pakistani passport and CNIC.
The police statement stated, “As per information, RAW has been operating an organized network of terrorism in different countries.”
According to the officer, Ansari, the suspect, used to scout potential targets for targeted executions.
