PESHAWAR: On Wednesday, rain and snowfall battered numerous parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, however no casualties were reported.
There was a light drizzle all day in the provincial capital. It did not, however, cause traffic jams or the flooding of roads. Also, until this report was filed, no information regarding a causative relationship was obtained.
On the second day of the fasting month of Ramadan, in Swat, snowfall on the slopes and rain in the plains lowered the temperature and drew visitors. But the snow and rain caused problems for the neighborhood businesses and sellers.
Worshippers expressed happiness at the weather shift, taking comfort in the unexpected cold spell. They claimed that the cool weather made fasting simple. Ali Khan, a Rang Mohalla resident, remarked, “The cold weather has been a blessing for us during Ramazan,” as he took in the refreshing wind outside a mosque.
Unaffected by the month-long fast, tourists flocked to well-known locations like Malam Jabba and Kalam to enjoy the snowfall as well. The natural beauty and mild atmosphere brought happiness to visitors from places such as Rawalpindi, even in spite of the religious practice.
The rain, which began early in the morning in the districts of Upper and Lower Kohistan, Kolai-Palas, Torghar, and Mansehra, continued sporadically throughout the day, turning the weather chilly.
Rain-caused landslides closed off the linking roads in the Siren, Konsh, and Kaghan valleys of Mansehra to travel.
Similar to this, Lakki city and several areas of Lakki Marwat district saw light rain on Wednesday, which prompted municipal administration authorities to mobilize staff and equipment from the civic body to clear the roads and clogged drains.
