GWADAR: An attack on a Pakistan Army bomb disposal squad in the Ankara Dam area on Sunday resulted in the deaths of two security personnel and the injuries of four more, according to officials.
While the Pakistan Army’s bomb disposal squad was busily demining the Ankara Dam region of the Gwadar district, unknown armed persons opened fire on them without warning.
Four more soldiers were injured, and two soldiers were killed on the spot after suffering numerous bullet wounds.
According to Gwadar SSP Mohsin Zohaib, “the firing incident took place approximately 25 km from the port city [Gwadar], which claimed two lives and injured four others.” He further stated that the bodies and injured were moved to GDA hospital following the incident.
The troops Zahoor and Altaf were identified as the fatalities, and Havildar Sajid Hussain, Sepoy Tajamul Hussain, Sepoy Ibrar Ahmed, and Sepoy Gul Haider were identified as the injured.
To find the attackers, security forces have started a search and rescue operation in the region.
