DERA ISMAIL KHAN: According to authorities, an incident along Bannu Road late on Saturday resulted in the deaths of at least three persons, including two Customs officers.
In the last five days, there had been two assaults on Dera Ismail Khan customs officials.
According to a police spokeswoman, armed attackers opened fire close to Yarik Toll Plaza as the Customs personnel were inside a car.
Inspector Husnain and Constable Ziad Khan were two of the Customs officials who died in the incident.
Additionally, a person whose identity was not yet known was slain.
Two Customs personnel were hurt in the attack as well, according to APP.
The D.I. Khan District Headquarters Hospital received the deceased and the injured authorities.
Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Ghulam Ali all vehemently denounced the incident and offered their condolences to the families of the victims, according to APP.
Mr. Naqvi pledged stern action against smugglers and offered respect to officials “who sacrificed their lives to prevent smuggling.”
Five customers were shot and killed on Wednesday following an ambush that happened within the boundaries of the Daraban police station while conducting an intelligence-based operation.
In addition, a young girl and a civilian perished in the assault.
According to a statement released by Customs, the killed officers were part of the agency’s Directorate of Intelligence and Investigation (Peshawar) and were carrying out an IBO when they were ambushed by unidentified attackers.
FC official crucified
In a different incident on Sunday, unidentified assailants opened fire on a Frontier Corps (FC) member in D.I. Khan’s Kulachi tehsil, resulting in his martyrdom.
When the fallen soldier was shot and killed, he was not on duty.
The FC worker, identified as Muhammad Zubair, was reportedly seated inside his brother’s mobile shop when the terrorists opened fire, according to a police officer.
He was instantly martyred.
Ali Amin Gandapur, the chief minister of KP, denounced the incident and sent his sympathies to the martyr’s family.
In a statement, Chief Minister Gandapur said, “We share the grief of the bereaved family.”
