After several successful world trends on Twitter last year, people of India occupied Kashmir, Azad Kashmir, Kashmiri’s in India, Pakistan and around the globe are once again trending #Kunanposhpora today to highlight the Kunan Poshpora incident.
On 23rd January 1991, 4th Rajputana Rifles of Indian army gang raped around 53 women in a village of Kunanposhpora, Kashmir during search and interrogation operation in the village. According some Human Rights organizations including Human Rights watch, the number of raped woman could be more than 100. Indian Army denied such incident and after 24 years the people of Kunanposhpora are still waiting for the justice.
After such long time the human right organization and Indian authorities forgot the brutality of Indian Army but the people of Kashmir cannot forget the character assassination of the women of Kunanposhpora done by Indian Army and they are highlighting this issue on twitter and social media so that the world know about the Indian oppressions in Kashmir
Within the first hour of the twitter storm #Kunanposhpora is trending on the top in India and it is soon expected to trend on worldwide trends list.
