ISLAMABAD: Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif held a meeting with Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim in Istanbul.
During the meeting the Defence Minister apprised the Turkish Prime Minister about the gross human rights violations by the Indian forces in Occupied Kashmir.
The Turkish Prime Minister expressed complete solidarity with Pakistan.
Meanwhile, on sideline of World Energy Council meeting at Istanbul in Turkey, the Defence Minister representing Pakistan at the meeting, held detailed meetings with presidents of Turkey and Russia.
Meanwhile, Turkey has reaffirmed its traditional and strong support for the cause of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Prime Minister’s Special Envoys Muhammad Pervez Malik and Mohsin Shah Nawaz Ranjha called on the Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly Ismail Kahraman and briefed him about the atrocities being committed against the defenseless Kashmiri people.
They also apprised him about the latest security situation in the region, including escalation of tensions on Line of Control by the Indian side.
The Speaker of Turkish National Assembly reaffirmed Turkey’s consistent support for a negotiated solution of Kashmir within the framework of relevant UN resolutions and taking into account the legitimate aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
The Special Envoys also met with the Chairman of Pakistan-Turkey Parliamentary Friendship Group and interacted with prominent media outlets.
The Turkish interlocutors reiterated their grave concern over the prevailing situation in Occupied Kashmir affirmed their solidarity with the Kashmiri people at this difficult hour, and reiterated their commitment to support the cause of the Kashmiri people everywhere, and at all platforms. – APP
