WASHINGTON: On Thursday, Donald Trump declared that he would not take part in a subsequent live debate with Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic opponent.
“THERE WILL BE NO THIRD DEBATE!” the Republican candidate stated on his Truth Social platform, adding in his tally the earlier debate with US President Joe Biden in June and his Tuesday clash with Kamala Harris.
In front of 67 million viewers, the Democratic candidate forced Trump to back down during their confrontation aired by ABC News. Her campaign quickly demanded a rematch for the following month.
Trump declared he “would do NBC and would do Fox, too” the day following the debate. But in his most recent statement, which was delivered in a trademark mix of insults and all-caps statements, he made it apparent that he has backed off and said Harris is only pleading for another opportunity.
