TOBA TEK SINGH: Following the reported death of a suspected robber on Saturday night in the Samanabad police station in Faisalabad, three police officers, including a station house officer (SHO), were suspended from their positions. The suspect was turned up to police by locals two days prior.
The culprit, a native of Pirmahal, was overwhelmed by the townspeople during a heist two days ago, and they turned him up to Samnabad police while his two accomplices ran away, according to sources.
According to the sources, ASI Riasat Ali took him to the Government General Hospital in Samanabad after his condition worsened after he had been tortured by police.
The suspect died of his wounds later at the police station when the police official returned him there after the hospital’s physicians had asked the ASI for the information they needed about the patient.
According to a city police spokeswoman, retired Capt. Muhammad Ali Zia, a City Police Officer (CPO), removed SHO Muhammad Rizwan, ASI Riasat Ali, and Muharrar Muhammad Atif from their positions on Sunday due to the suspect’s death while in custody.
He claims that the SSP investigation has been instructed by the CPO to look into the matter and provide a report.
According to the spokesperson, two days ago, a crowd caught and tortured the suspect.The suspect said that his health was not good when he was turned over to the police and that he was taken to the hospital, “where he died.”
