PESHAWAR / DERA ISMAIL KHAN: In two distinct incidents in the district of Dera Ismail Khan and the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, three police officers were killed and one injured.
Unidentified assailants targeted a police van late on Monday in the Michni Gate police station’s boundaries in the Dag Lara neighborhood of Peshawar, according to police officers who spoke with Dawn.
According to a police officer, the attack happened at approximately 11:30 p.m. when unknown assailants targeted the police car.
Assistant Sub-Inspector Mazhar was hurt in the attack, and Ajmal Khan and Siraj Khan were martyrs.
On Tuesday, the Malik Saad Shaheed Police Lines hosted the funeral prayers for the fallen cops.
The attack is being looked into by the Counter-Terrorism Department, which has filed a First Information Report.
But according to the police, no arrests were made right away.
Separately, on Tuesday at the Sakhi Gate neighborhood of Kulachi tehsil, Dera Ismail Khan, an unidentified motorcycle-riding assailant targeted a police policeman, killing him.
Constable Mohammad Bakhsh, who was on guard duty at Yadgar Chowk, was shot and killed on the spot by three armed motorcycle riders when he walked to Sakhi Gate for groceries, according to the police.
