QUETTA: Three laborers were abducted and equipment was set on fire by unknown armed individuals who stormed the camp of a road construction company in the Duki district on Wednesday.
The camp, which was put up to build a road connecting Duki to the Chamalang coal mining sector, was invaded by armed men, according to police officials. The assailants surrounded the camp, looted it, and burned the construction equipment and other supplies.
A senior police officer claimed that the fire had completely destroyed the machinery and that three laborers had been kidnapped by the armed guys as they fled the site. Kuchlak is the owner of the abducted employees.
Such accidents have been occurring in the Duki region for a number of months. Unknown armed individuals assaulted the Duki coal mine area last month, killing 21 coal miners and injuring six more. Along the Duki-Loralai route and other places, a number of trucks carrying coal to Punjab and other regions of the nation were also set on fire.
Only last week, a truck driver was killed in an incident that resulted in the burning of four trucks carrying coal. Many local mine owners have been compelled to halt their operations for security reasons due to the continued violence.
