The Ramazan moon was sighted on Monday, according to the Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee, and tomorrow (March 12) will mark the start of the holy month.
Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad presided over the body’s meeting at Administrator Auqaf’s office in Peshawar. After the meeting, Azad spoke at a news conference and mentioned that reports of seeing the moon had come in from much of the nation, including Peshawar, Lahore, Swat, Sargodha, and other locations.
Therefore, it was agreed upon by consensus that Ramadan would start on March 12.
As the holy month began, he thanked the populace and the Muslim community.
He had earlier stated that today at roughly 6:20 p.m., committee members across the nation would attempt to spot the Ramazan moon.
In order to determine the moon sighting of the holy month of Ramazan, 1445 AH, he had emphasized that similar meetings of zonal committees across the nation would be conducted at their respective offices in Lahore, Karachi, Quetta, and Islamabad.
In an effort to organize a national fasting day, Maulana Azad had urged everyone to be watchful when observing the moon.
