QUETTA: Nine men from Punjab were slain in the Noshki attack, which was reported to the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) of the Balochistan police after they were offloaded from a bus.
On the report of SHO Asadullah Mengal of the Noshki police station, officials indicated that a formal complaint was filed against unidentified armed individuals.
The FIR now includes the pertinent sections of the Anti-Terrorism Act of 1997 as well as other statutes.
A probe into the attack has also been started by CTD officials.
The nine men were from Punjab and were on a bus from Quetta to Taftan, which lies near the border between Pakistan and Iran.
The terrorists intercepted the coach and stole the passengers’ valuables, including cash and cell phones, after setting up a barricade on the N-40 Quetta-Noshki Highway.
The nine passengers were divided up and taken away by the gunmen after their identity cards were examined. Later on, in a steep part of Noshki, their bullet-riddled bodies were disposed of beneath a bridge.
The murders had been attributed to the banned Balochistan Liberation Army.
