KARACHI: A JUI-F leader asserted that the Societies Registration (Amendment) Bill 2024 issue could be resolved in the next few days as the government and madressah organizations rush to resolve the matter.
In an interview with Geo News on Wednesday, Senator Kamran Murtaza stated that the madressah registration bill would probably be notified by the authorities “within the next two days.”
The JUI-F senator stated during an interview on the TV channel that a gazette notification of the madressah registration statute passed in light of the 26th Constitutional Amendment is anticipated to be released within the next two days.
The issue will be settled after a notification is sent, Senator Murtaza asserted, adding that he and Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar had finalized the document.
After President Asif Ali Zardari returned the bill, which had been approved by both chambers of parliament, unsigned with some concerns, there were numerous media stories indicating that the administration could propose a presidential edict to close the legal gaps.
Prior to this, Mr. Tarar acknowledged in front of parliament that a legal complication had arisen when the president initially sent the bill back to the NA speaker, and that a joint session of parliament ought to have considered it at that time.
JUI-F and the Presidency sources refuted these reports, meanwhile, with a party spokesperson claiming that they were unaware of any such developments.
