RAWALPINDI: After a seven-day visit, a delegation from the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) evaluated the safety protocols put in place by the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA).
As to the PCAA statement released on Thursday, the ICAO Coordinated Validation Mission (ICVM) that was slated to occur from June 5 to June 12 occurred.
According to a senior official, the team visited the engineering and flight safety departments of Pakistan International Airlines and carried out a thorough assessment of the corrective actions implemented by the PCAA.
The four-person team evaluated operations, engineering capabilities, airworthiness of aircraft, and the application of ICAO safety-related requirements.
According to a CAA spokeswoman, the crew reached Karachi on time to thoroughly validate the corrective measures that PCAA had implemented following the most recent ICAO audit in December 2021.
The delegation was accompanied on the tour by Deputy DG Nadir Shafi Dar, Secretary of the Aviation Division, and CAA DG Saif Anjum.
On June 12, the PCAA DG, deputy DG, and directors attended the team’s final meeting.
The statement also stated that the mission presented its preliminary report at the closing meeting, which would be followed by a more thorough report later on.
