KARACHI: A suspected member of Islamic State group was arrested on Saturday at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport while he was attempting to board Malaysia-bound flight TG-342.
Four pistols, eight magazines and 70 bullets were seized from him that he had hidden in his baggage and shoes. The arrested Malaysian national, identified as Al Muhd Alfie Kqhyriel, has been shifted to the airport police station where he is currently being interrogated by intelligence agencies.
The security officials are trying to question him and ascertain as to why he would conceal pistols and ammunitions in his luggage.
The arrested suspect is also being questioned over his link with militant outfit Da’ish.
