karachi: The All Pakistan Newspapers Society (APNS) and the larger media community have PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif’s word that they will fight for equitable treatment, open policies, and more assistance to maintain the print media sector.
Following the successful conclusion of their annual meeting in Karachi, the PM-in-waiting congratulated newly elected APNS President Nazafreen Saigol Lakhani, Secretary General Sarmad Ali, Senior Vice President Imtinan Shahid, Vice President Muhammad Aslam Kazi, Joint Secretary Syed Muhammad Munir Jilani, and Finance Secretary Shahab Zuberi.
He hoped the organization would continue to be a voice for the people and a beacon of excellence in journalism under the capable direction of the APNS president and her staff. “Together, we’ll overcome the obstacles in our way and work to foster an atmosphere that supports the media’s growth.
Because it is the voice of the people, the defender of the truth, and the foundation of democracy, the media is more than just a business. “Let us work together to uphold these principles and pursue a more promising future for our country,” he exclaimed.
In the meantime, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz congratulated Ms. Saigol Lakhani on being nominated to become the first female president in the history of the society and also congratulated the recently selected APNS office-bearers.
PPP leader Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari also congratulated the newly elected office-bearers in a separate message released by Bilawal House. He stated that Pakistan was going through a difficult time right now and that the leadership of APNS and the media were essential in these situations.
He emphasized the role that the media plays in influencing public opinion and upholding democratic norms, and he expressed optimism that the PPP and APNS will continue to work together and progress together for the sake of the country.
