Srinagar:
Paying tributes to Allama Iqbal on his 76th death anniversary, chairman o Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) Shabir Ahmad Shah Thursday said Muslims particularly those of the subcontinent are indebted to this great poet for his invaluable services to Islam.
“Even today, youth enrich themselves through his ever-relevant works,” Shah said in his statement.
“Allama Iqbal’s (RA)works are the essence of Islam and is the voice of freedom fighters. There is guidance for the oppressed nations in his poetry which invokes a spirit of selflessness among Muslims and infuses in them an urge for regaining the lost glory of Islam,” Shah said.
Terming Allama Iqbal as “ideologue of Pakistan”, Shah said Allama envisioned the dream of a Muslim state in the subcontinent which is the last hope of Muslims.
“Allama Iqbal (RA) was a thinker of the century whose voice continues to be the voice of subjugated nations of the world,” he said.
