Minister for Foreign Affairs of the dominion of Saudi Arabia Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud is going to be visiting Pakistan on Tuesday (today).
The Saudi secretary of state, who is visiting Pakistan at the invitation of secretary of state Shah Mahmood Qureshi, is going to be amid a delegation comprising senior officials of the Saudi government.
During the visit, the 2 foreign ministers will exchange views on the whole gamut of bilateral relations, and regional and international issues. The Saudi secretary of state will turn in other dignitaries also during the visit, the ministry said during a statement on Monday.
The visit of the Saudi secretary of state holds special significance within the backdrop of the visit of Prime Minister Imran Khan to Saudi Arabia in May 2021. it’ll provide a timely opportunity to review progress in bilateral cooperation in line with the vision of the leadership of the 2 countries, the statement added.
Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have long-standing and historic fraternal relations, rooted deep in common faith, shared history, and mutual support. the connection is marked by close cooperation altogether fields and mutual collaboration on regional and international issues.
Saudi Arabia was a member of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Contact Group on Jammu and Kashmir, and had steadfastly supported the Kashmir cause, it added. Frequent high-level visits were a key feature of the connection that served to further deepen and broaden the connection in myriad dimensions, the FO said.
The visit of the Saudi secretary of state would reinforce the positive momentum in high-level exchanges and therefore the deepening of bilateral cooperation in diverse fields, the statement maintained.
