According to some reports, Samsung is planning to unveil world’s first stretchable display design today at US conference. Samsung will reveal a 9.1-inch stretchable organic LED panel during the Society for Information Display 2017 event. This event will run from Tuesday till Thursday at the LA Convention Center.

“While current flexible OLED is able to be transformed in only one side, this stretchable OLED can be transformed – whether curved, bended or rolled – in both sides, above and below”
a Samsung Display spokesperson said.
This flexible OLED can be dented up to 12 millimeters like a balloon.
“When pressed, the stretchable display is dented up to 12 millimetres, like a balloon, and then reverts back to its original shape,”
the company said.
Samsung will also unveil a glass-less three-dimensional OLED display. The technology can be utilised for 3-D pop-up books, 3-D games and virtual reality.
In January 2009 Samsung showcased the first concept of the folding smartphone to the public at the Consumer Electronics Show. Now we can soon see this flexible screen, most probably, today.
As we have already told you that Samsung Files New Series of Patents for Flexible Displays. According to the filing patents the device can be rolled, like a newspaper. Moreover, there will also a book-like model whom you can be fold to make it shorter.
With the advent of these flexible screens, we can see a huge increase in revenue in Flexible display market. London-based research firm IHS Markit predicts sales of the global flexible display market to rise to $15.7 billion by 2020 from $5.3 billion this year.
