LONDON: London mayor Sadiq Khan and Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai have been ranked among Top 10 of a list of 101 most influential Asians in Britain by the Asian Media and Marketing Group.
Sadiq Khan topped the 2016 list of 101 most influential Asians, which includes Nobel prize winner Malala Yousafzai, Sajid Javid, Tariq Ahmed and Syed Kausar Kazmi.
The reason for Khan to clinch the top slot turned out to be his London mayor election held in May, this year. He became the first Muslim mayor of London, besides regaining the slot for the Labour Party after eight years of Conservative rule.
Khan replaced UK minister Sajid Javid, who was on top of the list for past two years.
Nobel laureate and Pakistan activist for female education, Malala Yousafzai, secured the 10th slot on the list of 101 most influential people of Asian origin.
The list also included MP Tariq Ahmed and Pakistani banker Syed Kausar Kazmi.
