RAWALPINDI: To commemorate Pakistan Day the ‘Armed Forces Pakistan Day Parade’ will be held in Islamabad on the 23rd of March with a full dress rehearsal planned for the 21st of March. In order to facilitate commuters on both days special traffic arrangements have been made.
According to a handout from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) branch of the Pakistan Army, the traffic plan will be publicized through the electronic and print media ahead of time. Meanwhile ahead of the official full dress rehearsal, the participants rehearsed at the parade venue today (Wednesday) as well.
Participating troops which include foot columns of Army, Navy, PAF, Frontier Corps , Northern Light Infantry, Mujahid Force, Islamabad Police, Tri-Services Lady officers, Tri-Services Armed Forces Nursing Service, Girls Guide, Boys Scouts, Special Service Group from three Services, mechanized columns of Armoured Corps, Artillery, Army Air Defence, Signals, Engineers, Army Strategic Force Command, Camel Band and President’s Body Guard participated in the parade, according to the ISPR handout.
The ISPR adds that PAF fighter aircraft, aircrafts of Pakistan Navy and helicopters of Army Aviation also rehearsed their flypast for the 23rd of March parade.
Aerobatics of PAF Sherdil team and JF-17 thunder and F-16 were also part of today’s rehearsal while skydivers of three services also rehearsed for the final day.
Lieutenant General Najib Ullah Khan, Director General Joint Joint Staff,Lieutenant General Zamir ul Hasan Shah, Adjutant General Pakistan Army, Lieutenant General Malik Zafar Iqbal, Corps Commander and other representatives from all three services and organizers witnessed the rehearsal today.
