Real Madrid man Cristiano Ronaldo has the world at his feet after he scored the winner against Gremio in the final of the FIFA Club World Cup. Once he helped Real Madrid clinch a record fifth title to complete their most successful year, Ronaldo said that arch-rivals Barcelona should give them a guard of honour before El Clasico.
El Clasico between Real Madrid and Barcelona will be played on December 23rd at the Santiago Bernabeu in a lunch time kick off.
The Portuguese who was decisive against Gremio said after the final, “It would be nice and I would like Barcelona to give us a guard of honour.”
Scoring the goal which won Los Blancos their record-breaking fifth title in a calendar year was a proud moment for Ronaldo.
“I’m happy I scored the goal, very happy,” he continued.
“I’m having a great season.”
“Real Madrid had never won five titles in a year and we wanted it, it’s a record.”
Real Madrid are currently fourth in La Liga and are 8 points behind table toppers Barcelona with a match in hand. But with a little more than half the season still to go, Ronaldo has not given up. Atletico Madrid and Valencia are second and third respectively.
“I hope we win that game too so that the league is still alive for Real Madrid.”
