ISLAMABAD: Following last week’s gathering in Pishin, where offensive slogans were chanted against JUI-F president Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the PTI attempted on Monday to allay his ire.
Asad Qaiser, a senior PTI politician, apologized for the incident over the phone with the Maulana.
Mr. Qaiser stated that “such regrettable incidents lead to bad blood between political parties and hinder attempts to bring different actors on one platform.”
According to JUI-F office-bearer Aslam Ghori, the topic of discussion included the post-election environment, particularly the potential for the establishment of a wide-ranging anti-government coalition.
Maulana Fazlur Rahman expressed gratitude to Asad Qaiser for contacting him, noting that “there were some reservations as well, but we have had cordial discussions earlier too.” “Mr. Qaiser, these reservations must be removed,” the Maulana informed him. But he also said that there should be “channels of communications” maintained open between the two sides.
