DERA MURAD JAMALI: The traders and Hindu community in Dera Murad Jamali staged a protest over the recent abduction of Priya Kumari, a girl, and called for her prompt recovery.
The demonstrators berated the Sindh government for its lack of success in rescuing Ms. Kumari, who had been kidnapped from Sukkur a few days prior.
The demonstrators brandished placards and sang slogans against the alleged regular kidnapping of innocent children in Sindh and the worsening security conditions facing the region’s religious minority.
The demonstration, which was led by prominent Hindu community leaders Mukhi Manak Lal and Seth Tara Chand, drew participants from many backgrounds.Traders’ representative Taj Baloch, activist Liaqat Ali Chakar of JI’s youth wing, president of the wholesale market Mir Jan Mengal, Molana Nawabuddin Domki, Khan Jan Bangulazi, and Harpal Das were prominent figures among them.
They threatened nationwide protests if their demands were not satisfied and demanded Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to act immediately to secure Ms. Kumari’s recovery and deliver justice to the minority community.
