KARACHI: Because general sales tax has increased by 7%, Pak Suzuki Motor Company Ltd (PSMCL) has raised the price of the Suzuki Swift GLX CVT by Rs304,000, to Rs5.429 million from Rs5.125 million.
In the event that a locally constructed vehicle’s invoice price—exclusive of sales tax—exceeds Rs. 4 million for a vehicle covered by chapter 87.03 of the Pakistan Customs Tariff, the government has increased the GST from 18% to 25%.
Other auto manufacturers are analyzing the GST increase as well, and they plan to release updated pricing soon.
