LARKANA: Early on Wednesday morning, police in Qambar town detained a constable and took away his pistol, which he had used to kill his teenage daughter in the name of honor.
A close family member of the victim named Abdul Wahab filed a formal complaint (FIR No. 352/2024) against the suspect Mohammad Safeer late on Wednesday night, citing Sections 302 and 311 of the PPC. He claimed to have gone to the cemetery that day with his nephews Tariq Hussain and Aziz Mudassir to place fateha on the graves of the family elders.
He said that as they were fixing the graves and bringing fateha, they noticed a white pickup truck pull into the cemetery, from which the suspect, his wife Naheed Buriro, and their daughter got out.
The suspect pulled out a revolver, yelled, “You are a Kari!” at his daughter, and threatened to kill her.
Having said that, the suspect shot the girl before leaving with his wife in the same car. “We promptly notified the police after she passed away ahead of us,” the complainant stated.
