In Punjab’s Mandi Bahauddin area, a man was shot dead in front of his family. According to police officials, the victim’s wife allegedly plotted to have him killed and pretended that the incident was a robbery.
Muhammad Afzal allegedly “pressured his wife to undress and interact with users online to make money,” according to a video statement made by Sub-Inspector Muhammad Akram Hanjan, the Station House Officer of Pahtriyaanwali Police Station.
The SHO said, “In the interim, the woman made contact with another user named Usman, who was living overseas, and their relationship developed.” “She wanted to wed him, but she was unable to divorce her husband.”
According to the SHO’s statement, Usman allegedly sent the woman Rs50,000 to purchase a pistol, and the two started plotting Afzal’s murder. In order to plan the murder, she also recruited the assistance of her brother and a friend.
Afzal was riding his motorcycle with his wife and kids when he was confronted by his wife’s brother and another accomplice, according to a first information report (FIR) dated October 21. Dawn.com has a copy of the FIR.
The FIR also stated that after forcing the woman and kids off the bike, the alleged gunmen took two cell phones and Rs 1,000 from the victim before shooting him dead.
In his statement, SHO Pahtriyaanwali claimed, “They shot him dead in front of his wife and children before escaping the scene.” “The woman filed a murder and robbery case at Pahtriyaanwali Police Station, portraying the incident as a robbery.”
The deceased’s body was taken by the police and taken to a government facility for an autopsy before being given to his heirs, he continued.
The SHO claims that Ahmed Mohiuddin, the Mandi Bahauddin District Police Officer (DPO), participated in the probe as well. The SHO stated, “We looked into the woman’s phone and discovered that she had communicated with the suspects while traveling to the crime scene.”
DPO Mohiuddin ordered the arrest of Afzal’s wife right away after making this finding. After being detained by SHO Akram, the woman confessed under interrogation that she had planned her husband’s murder with the assistance of her brother and friends.
“Police arrested the other two suspects in the incident and confiscated the murder weapon in the Phalia police circle area based on the woman’s testimony,” SHO Akram continued. “All three suspects have admitted to committing the crime and are currently being held by the police.”
