On Sunday, police reported that they had arrested over a dozen individuals during an operation and that they had obtained evidence that might help them find two children who had been kidnapped from the Garden neighborhood of Karachi.
Ali Raza, age six, and Aliyan, also known as Ali, age five, vanished in the Garden neighborhood on Tuesday. CCTV footage showed that a man and woman on a motorcycle had whisked them away, according to South Deputy Inspector General Syed Asad Raza.
In response to Aliyan’s mother Zainab Younus’s complaint, Garden police filed a first information report (FIR) under Section 364A of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) (kidnapping or abducting a person under the age of 14) and Section 3 of the Prevention of Trafficking in Persons Act, 2018.
In order to find the two missing lads, a combing and search operation was conducted under the direction of city Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Arif Aziz. Lady constables, intelligence personnel, and station house officers (SHOs) from Garden, Nabi Bux, Kalakot, Chakiwara, Kalri, and other police stations participated in the operation.
The city police spokesperson stated, “19 suspects were detained and moved to a police station during the search operation.” The suspects were being questioned, he said.
SSP Aziz stated that the children would be reunited with their parents as soon as possible, adding that “certain evidence has been obtained, which may help the police to recover the children very soon.”
A separate reward of Rs300,000 has been offered by the police for any information pertaining to the missing boys.
