ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has summoned the government and the Taliban’s peace talks committees on breakfast table here today, sources told The News.
Talking to Geo News, the Taliban’s negotiating committee coordinator Maulana Yousuf Shah said that the meeting with the prime minister would be an important step to move peace process forward.
The members of both the committees would exchange views with the prime minister over the road map to make the peace process more effective, he said.
The sources said that the proposals would be submitted to the prime minister suggesting the inclusion of government’s representative in the committee, and to hold direct talks with the Taliban Shura.
On Wednesday, both the committees ended their stalemate as they met in Akora Khattak at the residence of Maulana Sami ul Haq.
