ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to hold a camp after Eidul Fitr to hunt quality all-round cricketers.
With the current crop of all-rounders — namely Anwar Ali and Bilawal Bhatti — failing to materialise the expectations, the country’s cricket board has taken the decision to conduct an all-rounders camp.
“Several players in recent times have tried to become regular all-rounders but have failed to fill the vacuum created by Abdul Razzaq and Azhar Mahmood,” a PCB official told APP.
The official further added that Pakistan Chief Selector Inzamam-ul-Haq also underlined the need to find suitable all-rounders.
The decision to hold the camp has come in the wake of selection committee’s difficulty to categorise Ali and Bhatti as regular all-rounders.
Pakistan to play another side game before Test series
After a remarkable batting and bowling display by the national side against Somerset, in their first first-class contest on the English soil in last six years, Misbah-ul-Haq-led Pakistan will play another three-day game before the start of Pakistan-England Test series from July 14.
Speaking about Pakistan’s ongoing tour of England, the official said: “Pakistan will play Sussex from July 8 till July 10.”
