Shahid Afridi, former T20 and One-Day International captain has responded to Indian criticism to his message on Twitter by saying that Indians did not know that ‘Pathans’ were standing ahead of Pakistan Army to guard the borders.
The response has come in after Afridi posted a couple of messages on Twitter calling for peace efforts between Pakistan and India at a time when tensions are escalated.
He wrote on social media:
Indian media ridiculed Afridi’s call for truce by reducing his statement to an outcome of fear of Pakistan military.
While he appeared on a sports show, broadcast on state-run television channel, for expert opinion as Pakistan played against West Indies in second One-Day International in Sharjah, Afridi, casually referred to as ‘Lala’ lambasted Indian media for its uncalled for comments.
Before Afridi, Javed Miandad had criticised Narendra Modi, Indian premier for resorting to false claims and aggression in the region.
