Friendly match with India
The News reported earlier today that India has invited Pakistan to play in a friendship baseball series in India in April. India captain Ankit Joshi characterized the move as an effort to rekindle athletic ties between the two neighboring nations.
During the announcement, Captain Ankit Joshi stated that they were eagerly awaiting the Pakistan team’s visit to India for the friendship series. Harish Kumar, secretary of the Indian Baseball Federation, was also with Joshi.
“To get the sports exchanges rolling, we have invited the Pakistan baseball team to play at least a three-match series in India in April. Harish stated, “We are eagerly anticipating the West Asian champions to cross the border and play the series now that Pakistan has accepted the invitation.”
A growing game
In Pakistan, where there are few leagues and games are played on soccer fields, baseball is still in its infancy.
Syed Khawar Shah established the Pakistan Federation of Baseball in 1992, which marked the beginning of the sport in the nation. At the US Embassy, they played on a basic baseball diamond, and the coaches’ primary source of instruction were American baseball videos.
