At the first-ever Baseball United Arab Classic, Pakistan defeated the host UAE 12-1 to win the trophy on Sunday, going undefeated in the competition.
The Baseball United Ballpark at The Sevens in Dubai hosted the competition, which featured participation from nine different countries.
After defeating Bangladesh 10-0 to start the series, Pakistan defeated the United Arab Emirates 10-3 in Dubai on Friday.
Pakistan then advanced to the semi-finals with consecutive wins over Afghanistan (17-3) and India (12-0).
The tournament’s MVP (most valuable player) was Muhammad Hussain.
Pakistan’s ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, Ambassador Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, congratulated the team from the bottom of his heart.
Everyone was caught off guard by Pakistan’s triumph in a sport that isn’t played very much back home. In a statement published on X by Pakistan’s Embassy in the United Arab Emirates, Tirmizi was cited as stating, “This victory reflects the determination, skill, and dedication of our athletes.”
He emphasized that this achievement enhances Pakistan’s standing in international sports. “We anticipate more accomplishments of this nature and the advancement of the spirit of sportsmanship among our countries,” he continued.
The consul general of the Pakistani consulate in Dubai, Hussain Muhammad, was at the stadium with other officials. According to the statement, the Consul General praised the team’s players and management for their hard work and commitment while commemorating the incredible victory.
Baseball United’s chairman, CEO, and co-founder, Kash Shaikh, congratulated Pakistan on their amazing win.
The Pakistani squad demonstrated that they are not only among the best in Asia, but they are also headed to compete with the world’s top baseball-playing nations in what was the biggest and most competitive baseball tournament in the region’s history.
