ISLAMABAD: To maximize the benefits of the agriculture sector for the nation’s policymakers, the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) will carry out a digital census of the industry.
PBS will use 7 software modules for a combined and digitized census strategy, maximizing benefits for Pakistan’s agriculture industry, according to an official declaration.
PBS will provide nationwide HR as well as assignment module training to staff members in this regard.
In cooperation with deputy commissioners, the PBS has stationed 200 census district coordinators at 157 census support centers to offer field workers technical advice and digital support. For field activities, provincial governments are supplying 7,000 field workers.
With the launch of Pakistan’s first digitally integrated agricultural census, PBS is getting ready for the country’s 7th agricultural census, which will take place in September and October of 2024.
Agriculture, livestock, along with machinery were once counted independently in separate censuses. They have now been combined into an integrated agricultural census in an effort to maximize the use of available resources. The field operations team will supervise the field operations’ implementation and oversight, and they will be drawn from the province governments.
PBS’s support services division has created data input software and administrative modules to improve the methodical and effective use of digital technology. Because it offers comprehensive insights into the distribution of employees for efficient management, the Supervisor and Enumerator Management System is essential in enabling the seamless finalization of human resources for area assignments.
