SHARJAH: Pakistan faced an unexpected setback early into the third and final Test against the West Indies on Sunday, as pacer Shannon Gabriel struck twice in the first over to get Azhar Ali and Asad Shafiq out for duck.
Pakistan were reduced to two down for a score of just 1.
Earlier Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat.
This is Misbah-ul-Haq’s 49th Test as captain, as he surpasses Imran Khan to become Pakistan’s most-capped captain in Tests. Among Asian captains, only MS Dhoni and Arjuna Ranatunga have led in more Tests than Misbah.
Fast bowlers Wahab Riaz and Mohammad Amir are back in the team in place of Sohail Khan and Rahat Ali.
Pakistan have already won the series, after taking a 2-0 lead with their victories in Abu Dhabi and Dubai against the struggling West Indies team. Another victory in the Sharjah Test for Pakistan will result in a 9-0 sweep: Pakistan whitewashed West Indies by 3-0 in T20 series and 3-0 in ODI serie
